My former newspaper editor once used the term "slice of life" when describing my work. I like to think that term applies to my blog. I'm a photographer based in Northwest Arkansas and I have a very entertaining 5-year-old son. This blog gives a little insight into my work and personal life. XNA airport new concourse grand opening
I recently photographed the grand opening of Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport's new $20 million concourse. The features include a moving walkway (the first in the state), free Internet access, rocking chairs made from recycled seat belts, a new restaurant and 11 gates. There are built-in cases to display art, large planters full of trees/shrubs, etc., Terrazzo flooring, and tons of natural light. The space is really beautiful, and one that you won't forget. To all of those who don't really know Arkansas, I think it will be impressive to walk through after flying over all the chicken houses and mobile homes that sometime distract from the beauty of the state.
The image at the top of the screen is 14 images "stitched" together to create a panoramic photo of those in attendance. I was told that over 500 people were invited, and even with a 14mm, you can't fit that many people in the frame. I had fun experimenting, and even more fun putting the images together when I got home that night. A big thanks to NWA Media photographer Justin Wedgeworth for being in the right place at the right time. Sorry you happened to be "chimping" as I took the shot!
